How We Test
Every review on this site is based on hands-on testing. Our approach is consistent:
– We actually use the tools. Reviews reflect real usage, not marketing pages or feature lists.
– We test the core use case. We evaluate each tool on the task it is designed for, in realistic conditions.
– We note what we did not test. If we did not cover a feature or scenario, we say so rather than pretending otherwise.
Accuracy and Sources
We take accuracy seriously. Our principles:
– Facts are sourced. Prices, dates, product claims, and technical details come from verifiable sources — official documentation, company announcements, or independent reporting.
– We do not publish without a source. If we cannot verify a fact, we do not state it as fact. Unverifiable claims are either attributed, labeled as opinion, or omitted.
– We correct errors. If we get something wrong, we fix it and note the correction. Accuracy matters more than being first.
AI Content Policy
We are transparent about how AI is used in our work:
– AI is a tool, not the author. Our team uses AI tools to assist research and drafting, but every article is reviewed and edited by a human editor before publication.
– The author is accountable. Each article carries a named editor who is responsible for its accuracy and quality.
– We do not publish unverified AI-generated content. Anything that cannot be checked is not published.
Reviews and Independence
Our editorial independence is important to us:
– We are not paid for positive reviews. Tool companies do not pay us for coverage, and no payment influences our verdicts.
– We disclose relationships. Where we have an affiliate or advertising relationship, we say so clearly (see our Affiliate Disclosure and Advertiser Disclosure).
– Verdicts are ours. What we say about a tool reflects our testing and judgment, not the tool company’s wishes.
